Hybrid Forage Sorghum from Producer's Choice Seed
  • Yields equal to or exceeding corn silage with less than one-half the applied nitrogen
  • An efficient water user compared to corn for silage
  • Performs well on marginal soils or under tough growing conditions
  • Strong stalks and high grain to stalk ratio

Management Profile

  • A crop which uses a third less water and half the applied nitrogen fertilizer as corn for silage
  • Superior weed suppression and moisture conservation
  • Reaches the soft dough stage in approximately 120 days
  • Strong stalks for good standability
  • Produces tonnages comparable to corn for silage and exceeds corn on marginal soils
  • Silage quality is comparable to corn
  • Seeding Rate
    • Plains irrigated 10 pounds per acre in rows or drilled at 20 pounds per acre
    • Plains dryland 4-5 pounds per acre
  • Regrowth: Very Good

Field Appearance at Harvest Maturity

  • Crop height will be 6-8 feet tall with a strong stalk
  • Dense, numerous, wide, dark green leaves
  • Yields 5,000 to 7,000 pounds per acre of red grain, resulting in a very high grain-to-stover ratio. This significantly increases digestible dry matter per acre when fed as silage. The high protein content and total digestible nutrients make CW 7700 perfect for the feed lot or dairy.

Seed Characteristics

  • Seeding Count: 15,000 seeds per pound
